Are you going to race in your optimist over the water soon? Through fun assignments and games, you'll learn to sail independently as quickly as possible! This sailing camp also includes learning knots, sailing terms, and, of course, the names of boat parts. After this week, you'll be able to sail in an Optimist, know what port and starboard are, and have learned how to jibe!
But now, the sailing, after all, that's what you're here for. Before heading onto the water, you'll receive a wetsuit (surf suit), life jacket, and helmet from us. If you happen to fall into the water, no worries, the suit will keep you warm. The lake where we sail is shallow, so if you do fall in the water, you can stand anywhere. Through assignments and games, you'll learn to sail independently as quickly as possible. Everyone receives lessons at their own level, so you get the most out of your week.
After this sailing week, you'll have many new friends, know what it's like to sail in an Optimist, and be able to tell everything about jibing and tacking at home! Are you joining us?
The accommodation is truly special! The main building of the sailing school is housed in a former church. The church has been comfortably refurbished with a dining hall and kitchen for the evening meals on the first floor. The dorms all have 2, 3 or 4 bunkbeds, which means that you'll share the room with the kids of your age group. The older children sleep in ”Het Dorpshuis”, right across from the church. Are you coming with a friend and would you like to be in the same room? No problem! When you enrol you can indicate your wishes under particulars and we’ll take care of it.
