Do you want to sail in the largest sailboat of the sailing school and navigate to various Frisian villages? Then the Valk is the boat for you! In the Valk, you'll sail comfortably with a maximum of four other students under the guidance of your instructor. Everything we encounter along the way is used in the lessons. You'll learn, among other things, to sail under bridges, tack, but of course also to tack and jibe!
The Valk is a stable boat because of the keel hanging beneath it. The boat can therefore tilt comfortably without capsizing. Your instructor will be with you on board throughout the week, so you can ask them anything.
Upon arrival on Sunday, you'll head straight onto the water. From Monday to Thursday, you'll receive sailing lessons on the lakes near Zeilschool Neptunus and make short trips. On Friday, you'll embark on a longer day trip that's very enjoyable and where you can put all your gained sailing experience into practice. Sailing with the Valk is a piece of cake by the end of the week!
Unfortunately, the enjoyable sailing week ends on Saturday. It's time to bid farewell to your new friends, already feeling nostalgic for next year. At home, you'll be able to tell everything about sailing upwind and soon, you'll be taking your parents/guardians out onto the water.
The accommodation is truly special! The main building of the sailing school is housed in a former church. The church has been comfortably refurbished with a dining hall and kitchen for the evening meals on the first floor. The dorms all have 2, 3 or 4 bunkbeds, which means that you'll share the room with the kids of your age group. The older children sleep in ”Het Dorpshuis”, right across from the church. Are you coming with a friend and would you like to be in the same room? No problem! When you enrol you can indicate your wishes under particulars and we’ll take care of it.
