Have you already had some sailing experience in the Optimist or the Bic?
You like speed, cooperation, teamwork and more action to boot? Then change over to Double-handed Youth Sailing!
The double-handed leeboard Laser Pico is a sailboat for two persons that requires sound navigational teamwork and communication. The double-handed Laser Pico is a rather instable boat that capsizes more easily, but has the advantage of high speed. You'll start straight off on Sunday. The sailing instructions take place on the Koevorder lake (province of Friesland) where you'll be sailing with a group of about 6 people. All the different sailing techniques for the duo to let the boat sail as fast as possible are dealt with in class, such as rigging up and unrigging, sail positions and trimming. Your own instructor will be with you throughout the day!
This double-handed youth sailing course guarantees one week of intensive training with lots of exciting experiences. And then of course there is also a fun and an entertaining evening programme. When you've mastered all the skills, your Dutch National Sailing Diploma (Dutch: CWO-diploma) will be updated and registered in your water passport accordingly.
The accommodation is truly special! The main building of the sailing school is housed in a former church. The church has been comfortably refurbished with a dining hall and kitchen for the evening meals on the first floor. The dorms all have 2, 3 or 4 bunkbeds, which means that you'll share the room with the kids of your age group. The older children sleep in ”Het Dorpshuis”, right across from the church. Are you coming with a friend and would you like to be in the same room? No problem! When you enrol you can indicate your wishes under particulars and we’ll take care of it.
